Sarah Paulata Korere is a Kenyan politician and the current Member of Parliament for Laikipia North Constituency under the Jubilee Party of Kenya.
Early Life & Education
Sarah Paulata Korere was born in Laikipia County in 1976, where she began her foundational schooling at Doi-Doi Primary School, attaining her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) before progressing to Doi-Doi Secondary School, where she completed her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) during the period 1991–1994.
Following secondary school, she furthered her studies at Egerton University from 1997 to 2000, earning a Diploma in Agriculture Education & Extension, laying the academic groundwork for her future roles in community development and public service.

Sarah Paulata Korere began her professional journey in the agricultural sector, driven by her academic background in agriculture education and extension.
After completing her diploma at Egerton University in 2000, she was appointed as a Community Development Officer at World Vision Kenya, a position she held until 2003.
During her tenure, she focused on grassroots programs aimed at improving livelihoods, enhancing food security, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices among rural communities in Laikipia and neighboring regions.
In 2004, Korere transitioned to the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), where she served as a Program Officer until 2005.
Her leadership skills and dedication to community service soon earned her a position as Deputy Coordinator of the Laikipia North Constituency Development Fund (CDF), a role she held from 2006 to 2007.
Korere later joined the Office of the Member of Parliament for Laikipia North, initially as a Personal Assistant, and eventually rose to the role of Coordinator between 2008 and 2012.

Her first major step into politics came in 2013, when she vied for the Laikipia North parliamentary seat.
Although she ran a spirited campaign that emphasized peace, education, and development, she narrowly lost to Mathew Lempurkel.
Despite this setback, Korere remained active in community leadership and advocacy, continuing to champion the rights of women and pastoralist communities.
In October 2016, she was nominated to Parliament to represent special interests under the Jubilee Party, marking her official entry into national politics.
This nomination allowed her to participate in legislative work while also preparing for the 2017 General Election.
Korere contested the 2017 General Election under the Jubilee Party and won decisively, unseating Mathew Lempurkel, who had previously defeated her.
Her victory was historic, making her the first woman to be elected as Member of Parliament for Laikipia North Constituency.
During her first elected term, Korere was appointed to serve on several parliamentary committees, including those focused on security, administration, and devolution.
She used these platforms to advocate for policies addressing land injustices, pastoralist livelihoods, and women’s empowerment.
