Udgoon Siyad is the current County Woman Representative for Garissa County, Kenya, serving her first term since being elected in August 2022.
She is a member of the Jubilee Party.
Educational Background of Udgoon Siyad
Udgoon Siyad completed her primary education at Al-Huda Muslim Primary School, achieving her KCPE between 1993 and 2000.
She then advanced to Arya Girls Secondary School, where she earned her KCSE from 2001 to 2004.
Later, she pursued higher studies at Kenya Methodist University (KEMU) and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in international relations from 2017 to 2021
Career life
Udgoon began her career in public service as Deputy Chief of Protocol for Garissa County from October 2017 to 2022.
She concurrently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Udgoon Foundation, a role she assumed in 2018 and continues to hold to date.
Before these roles, she worked in corporate communications and community engagement.
She served as Corporate and Client Relations Officer at Bushra Energy Limited from May 2015 to June 2017.
This was followed by a position as Community Liaison Officer at Camac Energy Kenya Limited from November 2014 to March 2015, and as Communications and Social Media Strategist for Bahja Travel and Tours between June and September 2017.

In the August 2022 general election, Udgoon was elected as the Women Representative for Garissa County on a Jubilee Party ticket, officially assuming office on 16 August 2022.
She holds a leadership position as Vice Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in the National Assembly.
