Chimano Leaves Sauti Sol
Chimano’s solo career and album launch follows the split of the Kenyan boy band known as Sauti Sol.
Prior to the split, the band consisted of the lead singer Bien Aime, Savara Mudigi, Willis Chimano and guitarist Polycarp Otieno.
However, in a statement on May 20, Sauti Sol announced that they were going their separate ways after the end of their world tour on May 21, 2023.
The band expressed gratitude for the support they have received over the years and cited the reason for their breakup as the need to pursue their individual and collective passions.
“Sauti Sol has been an incredible journey for us, both as musicians and friends. We are filled with gratitude for the love and support we have received throughout the years.
While we take this hiatus, to pursue our individual and collective passions, we remain committed to our friendship and our shared businesses,” the band announced.
However, the boy band maintained that their bond as friends and business partners was still intact while expressing their excitement towards future endeavors.
“The bond between us is unbreakable, and we are excited for what the future holds,” the band disclosed.
