Popular blogger Edgar Obare apologized to Vera Sidika, a Kenyan socialite following his recent remarks.
The controversial blogger had claimed that a deep pocketed man had sponsored Sidika’s trip abroad.
“We apologize for the incorrect reporting of retired socialite Vera Sidika Dubai trip being sponsored by a Russian tycoon, she responded and provided us receipts,” Edgar Obare tweet read.
On August 12, following Vera Sidika’s trip to Dubai, Edgar Obare took his Telegram channel to alleged that the socialites’ trip to Dubai was to meet her Married Russian Tycoon.
“A source alleges that the mother of two, Vera Shikwekwe, flew to Dubai to reunite with her married Russian tycoon in Jumeirah and demanded not to be served by East African employees since she is a celebrity,” Edgar Obare wrote in his Telegram.

This, however, landed him in trouble with the self-proclaimed musician as she responded to his allegations with evidence to prove she was not sponsored by the said Russian tycoon as alleged by the blogger, forcing him to apologize.
Consequently, the controversial blogger retracted his statement and apologised to Sidika.
Moreover, Vera Sidika said she had chosen to overlook the libel but cautioned the blogger against making defamatory statements without solid proof.
“Apology accepted. Let’s normalize writing stories based on facts with proof and receipts. Not hearsay from pseudo accounts of people that don’t like me,” Vera wrote.
Vera Sidika went ahead to warn bloggers in general that henceforth she will not be so lenient with them if they make false allegations that damage her reputation.
“From today, any blog that writes lies and fabricated stories on me, you better have proof for the claims or we going to court. That’s one period,” Vera Sidika wrote.

Furthermore, she warned those who take gossip to the blogger that they too will not escape face her wrath, without specifying the action that she was likely to take.
“Whoever takes the “chai” to the bloggers plus the person that owns the blog will both be in trouble. Write crap about me with no evidence. I’m going to deal with you all properly.
This is no longer the old Vera that was overlooking all the fake stories you all wrote back then. Tread carefully,” she added.
