Kenyan gospel artist Daddy Owen has recently shared a shocking revelation about his near experience with a “cult.” According to Owen, he almost got duped by a Nigerian pastor who approached him by inviting him to his church.
The pastor, who invited Owen to a restaurant and later to his church on Ngong Road, urged the congregation to invest like him and gave them a Ksh.50,000 “seed” during offering time.
According to Owen, the pastor was obsessed with showcasing his wealth and promised him a car while asking for his contact list. However, he did not deliver on his promises. Owen eventually discovered that the pastor was using him and other influential people to give credibility to his church and lure in new members.

Sadly, some of Owen’s friends fell prey to the pastor’s schemes and lost all their wealth. The pastor left the country after converting several Kenyans with his “weird doctrine.”
Fortunately, Owen considers himself lucky to have avoided getting sucked into the “cult” due to his deep understanding of the true Word of God. He warns others to be vigilant and not to fall prey to such pastors who use the guise of religion to scam unsuspecting people.
Owen’s story is not unique. Many people have fallen victim to fraudulent pastors who use religion as a cover to scam people of their hard-earned money. Before investing in it, it is essential to be cautious and thoroughly research any religious organization or group.
