Renowned Gengetone musician turned Mugithi artist Peter Mwangi popularly known as Miracle Baby, has announced that he is now a pastor.
Miracle baby took to social media to announce his new journey with God posting photos of himself in a church, bowing as he was being prayed for.
In an Instagram post on June 2, the former sailors gang group member expressed gratitude to Apostle John Paul for officially ordaining him as a pastor.
“Thank you, apostle John Paul, for anointing me with oil, I will serve God until the end,” his post read.
His announcement did not come as a surprise to his fans as he had earlier revealed his plans to become a pastor once discharged from the hospital.
In a past interview, the Mugithi artist said he would preach in different forms as he did not have a church yet.
“I said I want to be a pastor and preach; you understand. But preaching comes in various forms, one can preach through songs, because someone like me currently doesn’t have a church, nor a place to establish one,” Miracle Baby said then.

Speaking from a hospital bed on Monday, February 12, 2024, Miracle Baby affirmed his intention to join the clergy to preach the gospel.
In addition, he expressed gratitude to fans who contributed towards his medical bills, further saying he was optimistic he would be discharged from the healthcare facility.
“Praise God. I’m going to preach. As soon as I’m discharged, I will be pastor and I will preach. To those who’ve supported me, God bless you, those who haven’t, I know you’re on your way, God is saying I will leave this place, I may leave either today or tomorrow but one,” he stated.
Peter Mwangi has been on a long medical journey and a series of surgeries following what his partner Carol described as burst appendix.
Miracle Baby Journey and Beginning of Medical Issues
Miracle Baby rose to prominence through a boy group known as the sailor’s gang alongside four other young artists.
The group had their big break in April 2019, after releasing their song Wamlambez, which would later become so popular with the phrase going viral.
However, things took a turn for the worse for the musician when he fell ill in 2018.
According to his partner Carol Muthoni Mbuthia popularly known as Carol Katrue, the musician had been ailing from a gastrointestinal condition since 2018.
In 2023, Katrue reached out to the public for financial assistance as the problem had recurred causing Peter’s intestines to rupture. As a result, they were dealt a blow of a 1.6 million hospital bill.
“Hi guys the surgery was successful, but the intestines had burst, and they have managed to wash but he will be going to the toilet through a pipe, and they have left some intestines outside for 6 weeks and when he recovers, he will go back to the theatre so that the intestines can be returned inside,” Carol Katrue explained.
Nevertheless, the duo got a reprieve when president Ruto offered to take care of the medical bills of the ailing Mugithi artist and ordered his immediate admission to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
