On Thursday, November 27, Kenyans are expected to cast their votes across various constituencies following different circumstances that led the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to set this date.
A total of 24 by-elections are scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025. The mini-polls span different levels of government, including one senatorial seat, six parliamentary seats, and seventeen county assembly ward seats.
The most competitive races that have drawn national attention include the parliamentary contests in Mbeere North, Kasipul, and Malava, as well as the Baringo senatorial race.
The IEBC has issued guidelines outlining what voters must observe during the election period. All voters who are in the queue by 5:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
“Polling stations opened at 6.00am and will close at 5.00pm. Any lost time during polling will be recovered at closing and voters in the queue by 5.00pm will be allowed to vote,” said IEBC.

Thanks for the live updates—good to hear many stations ran smoothly, but the Kasipul attack and arrests are worrying. Hoping IEBC ensures calm, transparent tallying.
