As December rolls in, the countdown to an unforgettable festive season begins! Music lovers, partygoers, and thrill-seekers are in for a treat as some of the biggest names in global music head to Kenya to light up the stage with massive concerts, top-tier performances, and unforgettable vibes in lined up festivals.

Whether you’re into reggae, dancehall, Afropop, or the hottest new beats in the industry, there’s something for everyone this December.

From Nairobi to Kisumu, these festivals and events offer the perfect way to celebrate the festive season and ring in the New Year in style.

Top music concerts in Kenya this December

Pamoja Tour by Etana – December 6-15 (Different Venues) 

Jamaican reggae queen Etana will captivate Kenyan fans with five performances from December 6 to December 15 during her visit to the country dubbed the ‘Pamoja Tour.’

The venues include major cities such as Nanyuki, Nairobi, Mombasa, Meru, and Eldoret where she is set to be joined by supporting acts such as Wyre.

In Nairobi, Etana is set to perform at Jamhuri Park Grounds on December 7.

The “Strong One”, as she is often called, confirmed on her social media pages that she is indeed set to visit Kenya, bringing her soothing reggae beats to her fans.

Furaha City Festival – December 7 (Nairobi Polo Club Grounds)

Kicking off the festive season in high gear, the Furaha City Festival will take over the Nairobi Polo Club Grounds on December 7th.

The event will feature Tanzanian megastar Diamond Platnumz, one of Africa’s most prominent and successful musicians.

Known for his chart-topping hits like “Jeje,” “Nana,” and “Baba Lao”.

Fans will also enjoy performances from Tanzanian sensation Rayvanny, who has made his mark with hits like “Kwetu” and “Tetema.”

The festival will be an unforgettable night of East African flair, so whether you’re in for the live music or the party atmosphere, Furaha City is the place to be!

Mzuqa Fest December 14 (Jomo Kenyatta Stadium Kisumu)

Rhumba lovers can anticipate an electric show as Congolese legend Koffi Olomide takes the stage at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu on December 14.

The concert will kick off at 2 p.m. and will also feature performances from the Zaiko Langa Langa Band and top Luo artists, including Prince Indah, Apesi, and Madanji Perimeter.

Sol Fest 2024 – December 19 & 21 (Uhuru Gardens)

Kenya’s favorite Afropop group, Sauti Sol, is bringing back their much-loved Sol Fest for another round of live shows, with both VIP and Fan Show experiences on December 19th and December 21st.

Sol Fest has become a hallmark event, where the four-member band—Bien Baraza, Polycarp Otieno, Savara Mudigi, and Austin Chimano—perform some of their biggest hits alongside a star-studded lineup of Kenyan and international artists.

This year’s event promises to be bigger and better, with Nyashinski, Khaligraph Jones, and comedian Crazy Kennar among the featured performers.

Blankets & Wine Festival- December 22 (Laurate Gardens)

Blankets and Wine returns for its December 2024 edition promising an unforgettable experience.

This highly anticipated festival, a staple of East Africa’s music scene, will be headlined by musical powerhouses Nyashinski, Njerae and the legendary Necessary Noize (Nazizi and Wyre).

Joining them are genre-defying performers like DJ IV, the soulful Coster Ojwang, Watendawili and the energetic Wakadinali. 

Raha Fest – December 31 (Uhuru Gardens)

As 2024 comes to a close, Raha Fest will light up Uhuru Gardens on December 31st for an explosive New Year’s Eve celebration.

This year’s edition promises an unforgettable performance from Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea, who will be performing for the first time in Kenya after a previously canceled concert.

Best known for her hits like “Lick,” “Hit & Run,” and “Pon Mi,” Shenseea will bring her high-energy vibes and Caribbean flair to Nairobi, offering an unforgettable start to the New Year.

Shenseea will share the stage with Ya Levis, and Tanzanian artists Alikiba and Marioo, creating an unmissable fusion of East African and Caribbean talent. 

Churchill Show: Crossover 2024- December 31 (Carnivore)

Christina Shusho’s performance in Kenya on December 31 is promises to be a major event for gospel music fans.

Shusho will perform in Churchill Show’s Crossover 2024 event which promises to be a spectacular celebration featuring other renowned artists such as Israel Mbonyi and Eunice Njeri, and Christina Shusho.

Their powerful voice and inspiring songs are beloved across East Africa. Get ready for a night filled with laughter, music, and joy as we usher in the New Year together!

The Madfun Xperience – Postponed to March 2025 from December 30, 2024

The Madfun Xperience, featuring Nigerian music powerhouse Burna Boy was to take place on December 30th at the Nairobi Polo Club Grounds.

The Grammy Award-winning Afrofusion star is renowned for his genre-blending sound and chart-topping hits like “Anybody,” “Last Last,” and “Ye.”

With his distinct Afrobeat rhythms and magnetic stage presence, the African Giant was set to close out December in style.

However, the concert was rescheduled to March 1, 2025, at the Uhuru Gardens.
