Kenyan rapper Femi One has lashed out at a YouTuber after a video of a controversial interview was uploaded on social media, sparking an online backlash.
The video filmed by YouTuber ActuallyLumu at the popular Alchemist bar in Nairobi, was part of a long series of interviews the YouTuber had conducted with various personalities who were attending the event.
However, Femi One in the video seen by The Kenya Times was not pleased with how she was portrayed in the clip.
The YouTuber in the video introduces Femi One as a “lady,” which immediately causes the rapper to react.
“Hey lady,” says the YouTuber. “I am not a lady, address me as Femi One,” the rapper states firmly, clearly displeased with the casual label.
But things took a turn for the worse when the YouTuber asked a question that left Femi visibly uncomfortable.
The question was invasive as it crossed the line into Femi’s sexual life, prompting her to display clear signs of discontent.

Her facial expressions showed that she was not at all happy with the line of questioning.
The moment captured on video was brief but intense, with Femi in a statement claiming that she asked for the cameras to be cut off.

However, despite her request, the YouTuber proceeded to upload the footage anyway, sparking a heated reaction from the rapper.
In a fiery post on Friday, Femi One expressed her frustration with the entire situation.
The rapper made it clear that her anger wasn’t about how she was addressed by being called “lady,” but rather because of the inappropriate nature of the question.

Femi made it clear that it was about the respect, arguing that her discomfort was rooted in the inappropriate question.
“Mahn! This is why I hate going to these ‘stay woke, stay zen’ parties. We are not 15 anymore and definitely not at a house party. Why ask me such an unhinged, inappropriate question? When I asked you to cut the cameras, you went ahead and uploaded the same content I asked you not to. Then you make it seem like I got angry because you refused to address me as ‘Femi One,” said Femi One.
She further called out the YouTuber for seeking to capitalize on the situation, adding, “It’s your moment, this is it. As big as you’re going to get, so enjoy it since you want a viral moment so bad. Wanna build on my name.”
The video, which has since amassed more than 2,000 views on YouTube after it was uploaded on Thursday, features other artists and media personalities including rapper Boutross Munene and radio host Reedah Yvonne.
