1. Fernando Diniz
Brazil’s national team dismissed Fernando Diniz in January following the team’s poor start to FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
Brazil was sixth in the South American standings and suffered three straight losses before he was sacked.
He was replaced by Dorival Junior and the team now sits at the fourth position.
2. Gareth Southgate
Gareth Southgate resigned as England manager two days after losing to Spain in the 2024 European Championship final.
Southgate stepped after England’s second consecutive Euros final defeat, having been beaten on penalties by Italy at Wembley in 2021.
He managed his country for 102 games in eight years in charge and led the team to the World Cup semi-finals in 2018 and lost to France in the quarterfinals in 2022.

3. Thomas Tuchel
Thomas Tuchel left Bayern Munich after the end of the 2023/24 season.
Tuchel failed to live up to the club’s expectations by losing the Bundesliga title to Bayern Leverkusen.
This broke the club’s eleven streak of winning the title and dominating German football.
Bayern was also knocked out of the Champions League and DFB-Pokal marking it the first trophyless season since the 2011/12 season.
In October, he was appointed to replace Southgate as England’s manager.

Barcelona sacked manager Xavi in May 2024 and replaced him with former Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick.
Xavi departed after 142 official games, winning 89, drawing 24 and losing 29.
He won the 2022/23 La Liga title and the 2023 Supercopa de España trophy.
5.Mauricio Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino left Chelsea by mutual consent in May after spending just one season at the club.
He managed 51 games, winning 26, drawing 11 and losing 14.

Wales sacked Rob Page in June after the country’s failure to qualify for Euro 2024.
He took Wales to Euro 2020 and led them to the last 16 and the 2022 World Cup.
Wales lost a Euro 2024 play-off final to Poland on penalties, drew with Gibraltar and were beaten 4-0 by Slovakia before his contract was terminated.
7. Faouzi Benzarti
Tunisia fired manager Faouzi Benzarti just three months after appointing him.
Benzarti was sacked after a shocking home defeat to Comoros Island in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in early October.
During this brief tenure, Benzarti led Tunisia in four games, securing two wins, one draw, and one loss.
The team defeated Madagascar and Gambia but drew and lost to Comoros in the October international window.
8. Chris Hughton
Chris Hughton was fired as Ghana coach in August following the team’s early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana lost their opening Group B game to Cape Verde, followed by two draws with Mozambique and Egypt both with a 2-2 score.

9. Jean-Louis Gasset
Ivory Coast sacked head coach Jean-Louis Gasset after a disastrous result at the AFCON 2024 group stage.
After beating Guinea-Bissau 2-0 in their opening game, subsequent defeats to Nigeria (0-1) and Equatorial Guinea (0-4) saw Ivory Coast qualify for the rounds of 16 as one of best four third-place finishers in the six groups.
Emerse Faé took charge on an interim basis and went ahead to win the competition beating Nigeria in the final.

10. Aliou Cissé
Aliou Cissé left his position as Senegal’s head coach after nine years in charge.
Cisse led the national team through various tournaments, including two World Cups since taking charge of the national team in March 2015.
Senegal reached the finals of AFCON 2019, only to be defeated by Algeria.
Cisse achieved significant success in 2022 in Cameroon when he guided the team to their first-ever AFCON title against Egypt.
