Kenyan motorists and road users on several major highways have been warned to expect 92-day traffic disruptions following the start of abnormal cargo operations by TransEast Professional Haulers.
In a public caution notice, the transport company announced that movement of oversized cargo will take place from May 6, 2026, to August 6, 2026, covering a 92-day period.
According to TransEast Professional Haulers, the transportation activities will run daily between 6.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.
“This is to notify all Road users and the General Public of the Abnormal movement on the following routes. Please exercise caution when in the vicinity,” the company announced.
TransEast Warns of Traffic Disruptions as Abnormal Load Is Transported from Mombasa to Malaba
TransEast Professional Hauliers stated that transportation will affect multiple highways connecting Mombasa, Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu, Malaba, Migori, Moyale, and other major towns along the designated routes.
Among the affected corridors are the Mombasa–Nairobi–Malaba highway, Mombasa–Kisumu route, Mombasa–Isibania corridor, and sections linking Nairobi to Embu, Thika, Kitui, Nanyuki, and Kitale.

Motorists and the general public have been advised to exercise caution when driving near abnormal load convoys due to the large cargo dimensions and the expected slow movement on highways.
The Affected routes are as follows;
- Route 1 – Mombasa – Nairobi – Nakuru – Kericho – Awasi – Ahero – Kisumu
- Route 2 – Mombasa – Nairobi – Nakuru – Eldoret – Malaba
- Route 3 – Mombasa – Nairobi – Nakuru – Kericho – Kisii – Migori – Isbania
- Route 4 – Mombasa – Nairobi – Thika – Kenol – Makutano – Embu – Moyale
- Route 5 – Mombasa – Kibwezi – Kitui – Kapat – Kalindini – Kanyonyo – Matuu – Thika –
Nanyuki Road – Kiganjo – Subukia – Nakuru – Eldortet – Kitale – Malaba
Oversized Cargo To Be Transported by TransEast
According to the transporting company, the abnormal cargo scheduled for movement comprises large industrial and structural equipment that requires special transport arrangements across major road networks.

The consignments measure between 25 and 40 metres in length, 4.1 to 6 metres in width, and up to 6 metres in height, classifying them as oversized loads requiring controlled highway movement.
The cargo includes transformers, earth-moving machinery, breakbulk items, crates, steel structures, and boats, all of which require careful handling during transit due to their size and weight.
