Veteran actor and content creator Abel Mutua has stirred the pot with a passionate call for the development of a 20,000-seat indoor arena in Kenya after the recent rise of clashes at events.
In a post on his official Instagram account, Mutua suggested that malls have had their moment, and that the next big thing should be large indoor arenas—especially as the Orange Economy continues to grow.
“I said it once and I’ll say it again… Proper indoor arenas will save all of us a lot of headaches. Malls zimetosha guys,” he said.
Mutua, using to Kigali as an example, emphasized that indoor arenas are easier to secure, weatherproof, and offer solid business potential.

He questioned why Kenya, “the giant of East Africa”, has not built a 20,000-seat indoor arena, implying that it’s a crucial step for the region’s infrastructure.
“Indoor arenas are the next big thing especially now that the Orange Economy is booming,” he added.
“They are easier to secure, they are weatherproof, and they make business sense. (Kigali can attest to this).”

Mutua further called on investors and like-minded individuals with vision and resources to come together and bring this much-needed project to life.
“How can the giant of East Africa not have a 20,000-seater indoor arena? He posed.
“Haven’t we joked a big one there? At this rate, I think we should come together as a group of like-minded people and build it. How much is it?”
Celebrities Support Mutua’s Call
Mutua’s bold call for the construction of East Africa’s first 20,000-seat indoor arena has sparked response from Kenyans, with many expressing excitement and support for the idea.
Celebrated actress Celestine Gachuhi shared applause emojis, showing her support for the idea, while media personality Maureen Waititu responded with multiple fire emojis, clearly on board with the vision.
Director and creative Phil Director raised a practical question: “Nianze kutafuta acreage?” (Should I start looking for land?), signaling a desire to get the ball rolling on the project.

Comedian Oga Obinna was quick to jump in with, “Mimi niko game” (I’m in the game), signaling his readiness to join the effort.
Fellow comedian Mwirigi also chimed in with a solid “????????,” echoing the enthusiasm of the conversation.
Musician and influencer Claudia Naisabwa replied, “Tujenge please” (Let’s build it, please), while Nyokabi Macharia joined in with an excited “Jamaniiiii!!! Yes please!!”
Pastor Paul Kuria Popularly known as Man Kush chimed in stating that the project is very achievable and can be crowdfunded by Kenyans.
He added a layer of practicality to the vision, providing a detailed breakdown of what such a project could entail.
