Ann Njoroge, the lady who claimed to have imported oil valued at Ksh 17 billion has spoken for the first time since resurfacing.
Addressing the press on Tuesday, November 14, Ann Njeri Njoroge narrated that it all started when she went to meet Energy Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir.
In the meeting, she said that CS Chirchir made it clear that the shipment no longer belonged to her and that she was required to record a statement at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
A worried Njoroge would then comply with the directive and recorded a statement at the DCI Headquarters. All this time, she was adamant that she was the rightful owner of the oil.
“I went to see CS Chirchir and he said that the oil was no longer mine and that it belonged to Galana. But I told him that I had not sold the oil or signed any agreement,” she narrated.
But she was yet to see the worst. In the presser, Njoroge narrated that she was asked to record another statement in another office shortly after the first one.
The embattles businesswoman further narrated that she was not taken to an office as earlier informed and instead met two individuals.
After an introduction, the two individuals asked whether Njoroge was using any medication at the time.

The question took her by surprise as she could not understand why information about her medication was necessary in the exercise.
Later, the individuals asked Njoroge to surrender her mobile phone and password before driving off.
Ann Njoroge Isolated from her Lawyers
The lawyers accompanying her, she noted, were left behind after which she says the driver took the route to Kiambu from the DCI headquarters.
But she could not help herself from asking questions about what exactly their intentions were and kept pleading with them not to hurt her as she was a mother and innocent.
“When I alighted, I found that it was not an office. They asked me if I was using any medication,” Ann Njoroge told the media.
“They then whisked me away and asked to surrender my phone and passport at night and isolated me from the rest who were lawyers. We left the DCI headquarters and started moving towards Kiambu,” she added.

Later, according to her narration, the unidentified persons took a rough road. They then asked her to blindfold herself with a scarf she was carrying, failure to which they would use a jacket to cover her eyes.
Along the way they would swap cars at locations Njoroge said she did not recognize as it was dark by that time.
Eventually, the businesswoman reached a place after hours of riding on a rough road.
Ann Njoroge said she had no clue where she was and would later be led to a dark room with nothing but a bed.
While in the room, the people who had reportedly covered their faces interrogated her- asking to tell the truth about her claims of importing the Ksh17 billion.
But Ann maintained that she had been telling the truth all this time and stuck to her stance that the shipment belonged to her.
Nonetheless, the DCI and the National Police Service were yet to issue any statements on the reported abduction by press time.
