The recruitment program is selective and is only open to experienced law enforcement professionals.

Candidates are required to demonstrate a clean disciplinary and criminal record, with no history of serious misconduct.
Applicants must demonstrate a strong command of English through standardized tests such as IELTS or equivalent assessments to ensure they can handle legal documentation, court processes, and operational communication in Australia.
In addition, applicants must meet strict medical, psychological, and physical fitness standards. These include endurance and strength assessments, as well as full medical examinations, to ensure officers can perform frontline duties under Australian policing conditions.
Visa requirements for the Employer Nomination
To be selected, the police officers should also meet several visa requirements as set by the Australian Immigration Department, including:
- Must be nominated by an approved Australian employer under a labor agreement
- Must work in an occupation covered by the labor agreement
- Must meet relevant skills, qualifications, and work experience requirements
- Must meet age requirement, which is under 45 years.
- Must have relevant skilled work experience in the nominated occupation
- Must meet Australian health requirements through medical examinations
- Must be nominated for a genuine, full-time position by the sponsoring employer
- Must comply with salary and employment conditions set under the labor agreement
- Must satisfy all Department of Home Affairs visa application requirements and provide supporting documentation
Application Process and Selection Stages
The application process begins with an online Expression of Interest (EOI) submitted through the official Queensland Police recruitment portal.
Candidates are required to provide detailed information about their policing background, including service history, roles performed, and training undertaken.
Once submitted, the Queensland Police Service conducts screening to assess eligibility based on experience, integrity, and suitability for international recruitment.
Successful applicants are then invited to progress to the formal recruitment stage where candidates submit supporting documentation, verification of employment records, and identity checks.
Further assessments include psychometric testing, medical evaluations, and physical fitness tests.

Visa Sponsorship, Training, and Deployment
Successful candidates receive sponsorship under an Australian Labor Agreement visa, facilitated by the Queensland Police Service, allowing officers and eligible dependents to relocate to Australia, subject to immigration approval.
After arrival, selected officers undergo recruit training programs, depending on their previous experience and alignment with Australian policing procedures.
Upon completion of training, officers are deployed as probationary constables, serving under supervision before full confirmation into the service.
