Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino, has been honored with an invitation to address global leaders and dignitaries at the historic House of Lords in the United Kingdom.
The occasion marks the 9th International Economic Development & Investment Summit organized by the Leaders Without Borders Development Centre, focusing on the theme “Building Effective Leadership Powering a Sustainable Future, Enhancing Cooperation and Cross Borders Partnerships for Africa.
The invitation extended to Babu Owino comes as a recognition of his outstanding leadership, remarkable contributions to national integration, and his influential role in shaping global discourse.
Babu Owino Shows Gratitude for the Invitation
The summit, scheduled for April 19th, 2024, gathers influential minds and thought leaders from diverse sectors, converging at the iconic House of Lords, Palace of Westminster.
In a statement, the youthful legislator expressed gratitude for the recognition bestowed upon him by the Leaders Without Borders Development Centre and the City University of Paris.
“I am deeply honored to be invited by the Leaders Without Borders Development Centre to deliver a keynote address at the 9th International Honours colloquium at the House of Lords in Westminster Palace, London,”
“The City University of Paris in France has also nominated me as one of the most Influential Young African Leaders to receive a Professional Honorary Doctorate Degree, adding to the one that I was granted by the University of Weldios in Benin Republic.” said Babu Owino.

Young Upcoming Generation
Further Reflecting on his journey from the slums of Nyalenda in Kisumu, Babu Owino pointed out the essence of determination and perseverance in one’s life journey.
“This honor is truly a reflection that a seemingly hopeless boy from Nyalenda slums can rise to address Kings if you put your mind to it!” he stated.
Furthermore, he asserted the need for the younger generation to step into leadership roles and drive meaningful change.
“It is time for our generation to claim their rightful position and lead. We must be at the forefront of decision making in our Countries, our Nations, and our Continent,” said Babu Owino.
According to the official statement for the House of Lords summit, discussions are expected to center around forging strategic alliances, leveraging disruptive technologies, and identifying investment opportunities that can drive sustainable growth and development.
The Leaders Without Borders Global Honors Nomination Committee cited Babu Owino’s resilience, focus, and leadership qualities as key factors in his selection for the honor.

Babu Owino Past Accolades
Earlier at the start of the year, Paul Ongili aka Babu Owino graced ACT Wazalendo Youth Wing National Convention as the guest of Honor in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
In its invitation letter, the ACT Wazalendo Youth Wing National Convention said the event sought to foster democratic ideals and youth leadership.
Babu Owino, in recent days added another feather to his cap by receiving an Honorary Doctorate (PhD Honoraris Causa) in Political Leadership by Weldios University in Benin.
