Leading electric Mobility and technology company BasiGo has announced new opportunities for property owners in Nairobi to host Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations as part of its commitment to expanding network.
In a notice on Friday, January 31, BasiGo said it is rapidly expanding its network of Electric Vehicle Charging stations across the Nairobi region to support expanded charge of Electric Buses and other vehicles.
“We are seeking expressions of interest from commercial property and business owners in the Nairobi area who are interested in hosting a charging station at their premises,” read the statement in part.
“This is an incredible opportunity to transform your property into a revenue-generating EV charging hub and place your business at the heart of Kenya’s electric mobility transformation.”
Targeted areas in Nairobi area include Mombasa Road, Athi River, Kitengela ,Rongai, Ngong, Kiambu Road ,Utawala and Nairobi CBD.
Other areas are Nyayo Stadium, Wangige, Sunton, Mwiki, Kamiti and Kahawa West.

Property Requirements for BasiGO EV Charging Station Bid
- Minimum ½ Acre (2,000 m2) of accessible and usable parking space.
- Accessible by tarmacked / paved service road.
- Located within 3 km of primary PSV routes / terminus.
- Safe and Secure Access 24 hours per day.
- Have available ownership documents, i.e., Title Deed / Certificate of Lease, free from encumbrances and updated as gazetted (converted and/or digitized on Ardhisasa).
- Recent Change of User is to be commercial/industrial.
- On request, avail land rates clearance certificate.
- Accessible Site Survey Plan from Survey of Kenya or Deed Plan as part of the Title Deed.
- Willing to lease, sub-lease, or enter into contract for a minimum of 5 years.
- The ground is functionally stabilized (previously excavated and backfilled with approved backfill material by an engineer).
- Free from flooding; has effective drainage for stormwater management.
- Within 100 metres of 11 kilovolt (11kV) Kenya Power HV line if no transformer is installed on site.
- A clean water supply on site is preferred.

How to Apply
Interested property and business owners with sites that meet the listed requirements were directed to share their proposals by e-mail to [email protected].
Proposals should include contact details of interested party including name, phone number, email, business name, and business address.
It should also include google map’s location pin of the property, available space acreage and a brief description of the property (current use, amenities in place etc).
Additionally, the proposal should entail the asking monthly lease rate (Ksh./Acre, or per available space) inclusive VAT.
