The University of Nairobi has announced its 2025 September intake and invited interested students to apply.
In a notice on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, the university invited applications from individuals who meet the requirements for their preferred programs.
“September 2025 admissions are now open! Simply log on to the UoN application portal through the link below (https://application.uonbi.ac.ke),” the statement read.
According to the university, programs open are in different faculties, including Faculty of Law, Faculty of The Built Environment and Design, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Business and Management Sciences,
Others are Faculty of Education, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicines, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Science and Technology and Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
Application Process for Government-Sponsored Students
Applicants placed by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) must meet the following criteria:
Only candidates who apply for placement will be considered for placement in the respective programs applied
Candidates must meet the minimum admission requirement approved by the respective regulating authority to be considered for placement.
An affirmative action criterion approved by the Placement Service shall be applied for the marginalized and disadvantaged applicants.
Applicants who will not be placed in the preferred programs may be requested to re-apply for placement consideration into programs which may not satisfy the number required.
University of Nairobi Application Process for Self-Sponsored Students
Those who wish to study at UoN as self-sponsored students can also apply are online.
The online application system has a list of all the courses on offer at the University, open Intakes, application deadlines, reporting dates, and program requirements.
All first-time applicants are encouraged to explore the list of available academic programs and the set requirements to ensure that they qualify to apply for their program of choice.

Requirements and Eligibility
Certificate Courses
The applicants must have attained a mean grade of C- in KCSE or equivalent, an O’ level mean grade of Division III or equivalent, or an A’ Level qualification with a minimum of two subsidiary passes or equivalent.
All the certificates must be from a recognized institution of learning.

Diploma Courses
You have the following qualification, KCSE mean grade C, KCSE mean grade C- or equivalent plus a Certificate or an O’ level qualification with a minimum division III or equivalent.
All the certificates must be from a recognized institution of learning.
Degree Courses
Applicants must have the following minimum requirement; KCSE mean grade C+ or equivalent, KCSE mean grade C- or equivalent plus a Certificate and Diploma, Higher National Diploma in relevant fields, and should have attained an aggregate of C in KCSE.
KUCCPS Opens Applications for KMTC/TVETS
The University of Nairobi announcement came days after KUCCPS opened its portal for students seeking to join The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) or Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVETs)
“Form four leavers who sat their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination in 2024 can now apply for placement to KMTC and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges of their choice,” read the statement.
Additionally, KUCCPS announced the minimum academic qualifications for students seeking placement into various post-secondary Programsz.
