Philanthropist Manu Chandaria on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, awarded 20 police officers in the annual Manu Chandaria Bravery Awards.
According to a statement from the National Police Service, the officers drawn from the Kenya Police Service, Administrative Police and the Directorate of Criminal Affairs (DCI) were recognized for their acts of bravery in the line of duty.
Present at the event were Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome, Police Spokesperson Roselinda Otieno, executives of the Chandaria Industries- among other senior officers.
In his remarks, Chandaria- who is the founder of Manu Chandaria Foundation expressed his appreciation to the officers for their dedication to serving Kenya.
He congratulated all police officers feted in the award noting that their actions reflected selfless service to the country.
On his part, IG Koome urged the officers to continue serving the country with patriotism and dedication.

About Chandaria Awards
The Wednesday Awards marked the 35th edition of the Chandaria Bravery Awards held every year.
Moreover, the awards aim to recognize police officers who in their line of duty stand out.
In March this year, Chandaria had awarded another round of police officers who had been selected for their selfless service.

Among those awarded in the March edition included an officer who had returned Ksh450,000 to a couple who had lost the money after an accident in Mombasa.
Additionally, a police inspector who rescued a colleague on the verge of committing suicide by shooting himself at a police station was also feted.
Commitment to improving life
The awards are part of the of the activities undertaken by the Manu Chandaria Foundation that for years has made an impact in various aspects of life.
Through its various initiatives, the foundation is dedicated to helping people in improving their lives in matters of education, healthcare and youth activities.
Also, within its scope are matters concerning the environment and ecology conservation in over 11 African countries.
