Opposition leader Raila Odinga and renegade Azimio legislator Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o were spotted together for the first time since the MP pledged to work with President William Ruto.
The ODM leader and Lang’ata MP attended Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Hamisi’s daughter’s birthday on Sunday, July 30.
Several other Azimio-allied leaders were present including former Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa, Wycliffe Oparanya and former Murang’a governor Mwangi wa Iria.
Moreover, Caleb Hamisi and his wife threw their daughter a flashy birthday party at his Karen home.
In the videos shared by the Saboti MP, Raila is captured cutting the cake, with the birthday girl and her mother as other guests sing the birthday song.

Jalang’o’s Fallout with Azimio
Lang’ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor found himself on the receiving end after he admitted to working with President William Ruto despite being a member of the Orange Democratic Movement party.
Jalang’o had publicly pledged to work with the president to advance his development agenda for the sake of his constituents and Kenyans at large.
“Our resolve to work with President William Ruto was not a gimmick! We will support the president and we must support the president!” he tweeted on July 14, 2023.

As such, the ODM party accused Jalang’o and other seven MPs of betraying the party by meeting the President at State House without the consent of the party leader Raila Odinga.
Furthermore, Jalang’o and the other rebel MPs were summoned before ODM’s Disciplinary Committee to answer accusations of betraying the party.
The committee is yet to determine their fate.
