Uganda’s opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi popularly known as Bobi Wine has responded to a statement made by Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba the son of President Yoweri Museveni and Chief of Defence Forces of Uganda.
Muhoozi sparked a debate on social media after he threatened to punish those who will oppose him if he succeeds his father as the President of Uganda.
“When I become President of this beautiful country, anyone who doubts it will be in trouble!” Muhoozi wrote on X.
In a statement on Sunday, August 25, Bobi Wine referred to the book of 1st Kings in the Bible to reply to Muhoozi’s comments.
“This would be funny if it wasn’t real! These words by Gen. Museveni’s son, reminded me of a foolish, evil king, found in the Bible, 1 Kings Chapter 12,” he said.
He narrated how Rehoboam, then King of Judah rejected the advice of elders after the people asked him not to treat him harshly like his father King Solomon.
“When the people, who were previously oppressed by his father came to him to request that he lightens their burdens, his response was: But Rehoboam spoke harshly to the people, for he rejected the advice of the older counselors and followed the counsel of his younger advisers,” Bobi Wine wrote.

“He told the people, ‘My father laid heavy burdens on you, but I’m going to make them even heavier! My father beat you with whips, but I will beat you with scorpions!’” he added.
The Opposition leader stated how the people rejected Rehoboam, and he reaped the fruits of his folly adding that the statements are not a mere threat for Gen.Muhoozi.

Bobi Wine Mobilize Uganda’s Against Museveni
Bobi Wine stated that Gen. Muhoozi has already confirmed that he is more brutal than President Museveni.
The opposition leader explained that it is upon the people of Uganda to rise against the humiliation, and oppression against the people of Uganda by President Museveni and his entire family.
“He has already proven that he is many times more brutal than his brutal father. He has already proven what he can do to those who disagree with him,” Bobi Wine said.
“In addition to many others, Kakwenza’s back is a constant reminder of what he is capable of! It is entirely up to we the people, to put an end to this humiliation, and oppression against the people of Uganda by Gen. Museveni and his family rule.”
