Ridehailing company Bolt, in partnership with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), National Police Service Traffic Department, and Nairobi City County Government (NCCG), held a road safety training workshop on July 15, 2025, for drivers and couriers on its platform.
The training took place in Nairobi and aimed to improve safety standards and promote compliance with traffic laws.
The one-day summit focused on traffic regulations, app usage, behaviour change, first aid, and personal security. It brought together stakeholders in the transport sector to enhance cooperation and improve safety among ride-hailing service providers.
“Safety remains our topmost priority, and we continuously invest in cutting-edge technology and innovations to safeguard our users’ well-being,” said Dimmy Kanyankole, Bolt’s General Manager for Rides in Kenya.
He added that the platform is committed to partnerships that support adherence to laws and regulations in the sector.
Bolt Training and Road Safety
Nairobi County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Mobility and Works, Ibrahim Nyangoya, stated that safety must extend beyond enforcement.
“Safety isn’t just about enforcement; it’s about shaping culture. We must equip people to drive positive change on our roads,” he said.
NTSA Manager for Road Safety Programs, Samuel Musumba, termed the summit timely and called for more collaboration.

He also acknowledged that road safety is a shared duty, and I’m confident participants will leave with practical knowledge and a stronger commitment to responsible driving.
