A City Shuttle bus was burnt on the morning of August 7, 2025, at Jogoo Road in Nairobi. Reports indicate that boda boda riders torched the bus after it ran over a motorbike rider at 7:35 am at the Jogoo Road- Outering interchange.
It is reported that the rider died on the spot, which angered his colleagues, who in turn burnt the bus.
In footage seen by The Kenya Times, a City Shuttle bus was captured engulfed in flames as several bodaboda riders watched.
The bus, which was parked on the road, caused a traffic snarl-up after blocking the way.
Some individuals can be heard shouting “one term” while others watch in silence.
Pedestrians are walking past the burning bus, and a man is carrying a broom, captured on the camera.
City Shuttle Hits Rider
There is also a photo showing the rider who was hit lying on the road.
City Shuttle Ltd has not issued a statement regarding the burning of the bus and the allegations of hitting the bodaboda rider.
Super Metro Bus Fire
This comes after a Super Metro bus caught fire on the evening of Wednesday, August 6, along Naivasha Road, Nairobi.
Footage shared on social media shows the bus engulfed in flames along a road.
The scene has buildings and fences, and it is unclear whether the bus was heading to Ngong Road.

There were also flames and smoke from the vehicle, illuminating the surrounding area.
However, there were no signs of the driver or passengers around the vehicle, raising questions about whether the bus was still operating or was heading home after closing for the day.

The images also capture the shadow of a person watching the burning bus from a distance.
Super Metro has not commented about the issue on social media platforms or websites.
The latest post on their pages was at 5:24 am on August 7, and it does not address the incident.
