Videos have emerged of patients, especially expectant and new mothers, sharing beds at Mama Lucy Hospital.
One of the patients, who is going through such an ordeal, shared with Citizen TV that she shares one bed with two new mothers, each with their own child, in addition to hers.
“Here, we are three women with three children,” the patient at Mama Lucy Hospital said.
Additionally, other patients share hospital beds with up to 5 people in the maternity ward another patient revealed.

“There are no mattresses provided for those of us who sleep on the floor. We are forced to use our shukas or any piece of cloth we have at hand to cover the floor while we sleep,” a patient revealed.

“When I asked one of the staff why the patients were sharing beds, they said I am not supposed to ask such questions because I am neither a patient nor a staff member.”
