Daniel Koikai, the father of the late Mary Njambi Koikai, also known as Fyah Mummah Jahmby moved family and friends with an emotional tribute to his daughter during the memorial service held on Thursday, June 13.
Daniel Koikai began his tribute saying it would be more of his contribution to her life, confession of his own acts of omission, and asking for Njambi’s forgiveness.

He went ahead to ask for forgiveness for where he did not meet his responsibilities as her dad.
“Dear Njambi, my daughter, the time has come for me to attorn for my acts of omission or commission on your final journey from this world,” he said.

“I ask here in public where I may not have fulfilled your duties as you dad please forgive, and I pray that your soul will Rest in eternal peace till we meet again.”
Njambi Koikai, died on June 4 after a long battle with endometriosis.

Koikai in his tribute acknowledged that Njambi’s death has been very painful not only for him but also for his close family and friends.
“It has been one of the most difficult episodes in my life especially for your close family, your mum, aunts, your colleagues the media in my life and friends in and out of the country,’ he added.
“Your sudden and unexpected death cut shortly your very bright and professional career now that you had already entered the political arena. Having vied as a Member of Parliament Dagorretti Constituency in the 2022 elections where you came an impressive fourth.”

Daniel Koikai Narrates Staying Away from Njambi for a Long Time
Koikai also revealed that he met Stella Wambui Kanogo, Jahmby’s mother, when they were both living in Riruta Satellite.
“We started our friendship, and you were conceived in 1985 where your mum visited me at the office and informed me of the pregnancy. She gave birth to you on January 24, 1986, at the time I was working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs having been employed in late October 1983 employed,” he said.
“After she gave birth to you, she came back to see me at that time you were about four months old and that was my first encounter with you as a child.”
Njambi’s father recounted that after seeing the media personality when she was four years old, he did not see her again until she joined Form One.
“Our encounter was short lived as we never saw each other after that as I was posted out or the country,” he stated.

“All the time I was away your mum took care of you and it is only when you got to form one and I was back in the country that we were able to meet when you came in the office to look for me.”
Koikai further thanked Njambi’s family for taking good care of her during his absence.
