Lawyer Danstan Omari has been summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) over the alleged raid of the home of former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Mating’i by police officers.
Omari is representing Matiang’i who claims that his home in Karen, Nairobi was raided by police on February 8.
Speaking to a local media house on Tuesday, February 21, Omari said that he is set to appear before the DCI ON Wednesday, February 22.

DCI detective Michael Sang directed the lawyer to appear at the headquarters at 9:30 am.
The Senior Superintendent of police indicated that he was investigating the allegations of publication of false information over the alleged raid.
“I have reasons to believe that you, Danstan Omari, an Advocate of the High court of Kenya, is connected to the offence or has information which can assist me in my investigations.
“With the powers conferred upon me under section 52 (1) of the National Police Service Act No 11A of 2011, hereby compel you to appear before me at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation situated along Kiambu Road at Mazingira House on February 22, 2023, at 9.30 am without fail,” read the letter in part.
Omari was also warned against disobeying the summons by DCI.
“Failure to comply with the requisition constitutes an offence liable to prosecution,” read the letter in part.
The lawyers summon by DCI comes just days after police raided Matiang’is home in search of the actual video footage of the alleged raid.
