First Daughter of the Republic of Uganda Pastor Patience Museveni Rwabogo on Wednesday, May 29 spoke about the importance of hope, repentance, and prayer during hard times.
Pastor Patience while speaking during the inauguration of the women`s convocation in Safari Park hotel ahead of Thursday, May 30 National Prayer Breakfast asked Kenyans to remain hopeful and repent.

She noted that many of the difficulties faced by African countries were passed down from previous generations and could only be resolved through seeking redemption.
“The modern face of corruption is an old sin and as you know, demons don’t die, they just rebrand, we therefore need to repent and denounce the old sin,” said the first daughter who was the keynote speaker at the event.

Pastor Patience further encouraged women in leadership by referencing the biblical Daniel, a government official who recognized the times, took action, and ensured that the country did not miss critical occasions.
Subsequently, she urged them to follow Daniel’s example of praying to welcome the new season.

Uganda’s first daughter also commended organizers of the event for a good job, adding that they should keep up with the good job.
Rachel Ruto Attends inaugural Women’s Convocation
Kenya’s First Lady Rachel Ruto led the event which featured women drawn from various parts of the country.
She encouraged Kenyans to include prayer in their daily lives and to seek God’s guidance for their leaders as they govern the country.

She praised the Parliamentary Christian Women Caucus for initiating the idea of the convocation, urging them to continue promoting the initiative.
In addition, Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, reminded women about their crucial role in the nation’s success and encouraged them to actively participate and fulfill their roles effectively.
“The woman is at the center of the agenda of God, without a woman many things would not have happened,” stated Pastor Dorcas.
Other notable women who graced the event include Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi, Marsabit County MP Naomi Waqo, who co-chair the Parliamentary Christian Women Caucus, and Vihiga County MP Beatrice Adagala.
The women leaders assured that they will keep fulfilling their responsibilities to help the nation thrive.

“Women of this nation play a very important role, we are the pillars of this nation, and we shall continue taking part in the transformation of this nation and by extension the whole world,” said Waqo.
Diplomats from various countries like United Kingdom, United States, Uganda, Serbia, Australia and India were also present at the event.
Also, the Chairperson of the Council of Governors and Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru graced the event.
