President William Ruto has signed a Ksh23 billion ($175 million) investment deal with the Coca-Cola company after touring the company’s premises during his tour in Atlanta.
Ruto in a statement explained that the deal with the billion-dollar company would enable them to expand their operations in the country.

Additionally, he explained that the move was proof of the good relationship Kenya had with Coca-Cola, as well as a testimony that Kenya would sustain the strong collaboration with the company.
“Kenya welcomes Coca-Cola’s announcement to invest Sh23 billion ($175 million) over the next five years to expand its operations in the country.

“This is a milestone in the firm’s presence in Kenya and Africa, a testimony that we must sustain our strong collaboration for us grow,” Ruto said.

Ruto Signs Exchange Program Deal for Kenyan Students
At the same time, the head of state announced the signing of a partnership in education with the United States to enhance exchange programs between the two countries.
According to him, the deal will enhance the education of the youth in Kenya by sparking innovation and accelerate Kenya’s Silicon Savannah ambition.
“We have taken our long-standing ties with the United States of America a notch higher with the signing of a partnership in education. This pact will enhance student and faculty exchange, joint research and innovation to accelerate our country’s Silicon Savannah ambition.
“We will keep working together with America’s higher education to develop program aligned with industry requirements to equip our youth with skills to thrive in a sustainable way,” added Ruto.
While in Atlanta, Ruto also addressed the Fortune Company Chief Executive Officers, encouraging them to invest in Kenya and capitalize on the 60-year-old Kenya-U.S. relationship.
He especially called on investment in Kenya’s renewable energy, housing, manufacturing, agriculture and ICT sectors.

Atlanta- Nairobi Deal
Further, he met with the Mayor of Atlanta Andre Dickens, announcing a possible partnership between Nairobi and Atlanta for the benefit of our two cities.
“Kenya is keen on exploring the exchange of experiences and ideas with the City of Atlanta in areas of mutual interest such as low-cost housing and urban development.
“We also look forward to establishing a twinning partnership between Nairobi and Atlanta for the benefit of our two cities,” he added.
Additionally, he met with entrepreneurs from Vivo Fashion Group commending them for their impact in championing the role of women in leadership, business and entrepreneurship.
“We are elated to see that Vivo has not ventured into the American market alone; it has brought along other ‘Made in Kenya’ brands.
“This is an African spirit where businesses find innovative ways to support each other’s advancement as we take the global stage,” Ruto added.
