The family of a young woman whose body was found dumped near Lang’ata Cemetery in Nairobi have addressed the incident.
According to the family, Nancy Boke Chacha went missing, only for them to receive a disturbing phone call from police notifying them she was dead.
Her lifeless body was discovered half naked with several stab injuries.
One of the family members said Nancy’s clothes were torn with signs that she was raped.
“It looks like she was stabbed, and her clothes were torn. It seems like she was also raped because she doesn’t have any undergarments on, just a sweater,” she said.
The family has identified the body but is questioning who could be behind the horrific incident.
“We have only seen the body, but we don’t know who killed her. They killed her brutally.”
Police Preliminary Report
Detectives from the Nairobi region and their counterparts from Langa’ta Police Station combed through the forest in search of evidence.
Preliminary investigations revealed she was sexually abused and strangled.
Besides the body were her inner clothes, a sharp knife, and an identity card.
The crime scene depicted a possible struggle and a fight.

However, police say it is not yet clear whether the murder happened near the cemetery, or the deceased was killed elsewhere and her body dumped in the thicket.
A forensic analysis identified the body as that of 23-year-old Nancy Boke Chacha.
Investigators are now revisiting Boke’s last moments with a view of trailing who she was with before the murder, as well as tracing her last steps.
Her body is being preserved at the Nairobi Funeral Home awaiting an autopsy as a manhunt for the perpetrators kicks off.

Human Remains Found at Lang’ata Cemetery
This comes barely three months after police discovered a severely mutilated female body near the same cemetery.
The remains consisted of bones and were found at the scene early on the morning of Thursday, October 31, seemingly left there by unknown individuals.
According to police, the bones appeared to have been boiled, with the flesh carefully removed.
In a subsequent update, DCI said the remains could have been Deka Abdinoor Gorone who was reported missing at California Police Station on October 24, 2024.
DCI linked the incident to the activities of Hashim Dagane Muhumed, the prime suspect in the tragic murders of a mother, her daughter, and her 12-year-old niece in Eastleigh.
