Four people were killed Saturday night after a massive fire engulfed and destroyed a four-story residential building in the Stage 2 area of Congo Kawangware.
The blaze, which broke out around 11 p.m. on June 14, is suspected to have been caused by an electrical fault, according to preliminary investigations.
In videos circulating on social media, chaotic scenes were seen as residents scrambled to escape the flames, with many losing their belongings in the inferno.
Local authorities are continuing to assess the damage and are working to identify the deceased.
The fire has led to the displacement of several residents. An investigation into the exact cause of the fire is ongoing.
Kawangware Recent Fire Incidents
A major fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday, June 14, at the Barnabas stage in Nakuru County’s Pipeline area.

The fire reportedly began following an explosion involving a fuel tanker, which then ignited several nearby tankers.
Dramatic footage captured flames engulfing the vehicles.
The blaze led to the temporary closure of the busy Nakuru–Nairobi Highway, causing major traffic disruptions and leaving the road unusable for several hours.
Nairobi Fire Incidents
Just days earlier, another fire erupted in the densely populated Kibra Estate in Nairobi on the night of May 23.
Over 100 families were left homeless, forced to spend the night outside in the cold.
The fire severely affected local traders and homeowners as it spread rapidly, damaging homes and businesses.
Residents said that firefighting efforts were hindered by narrow access routes, which delayed emergency responders.
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku, who toured the area alongside local leaders such as area MP Peter Orero, pledged government assistance for those affected.

“Fires are increasingly common in informal settlements, particularly in Nairobi. The government is determined to take stronger measures to protect lives and property from such disasters,” Ruku stated.
Dubai Residential Fire
A massive fire broke out on Friday, 13 June, in a 67-storey residential tower in Dubai Marina.
According to official updates from the Dubai Media Office (DMO) posted on X, emergency services, including firefighters, ambulance teams, and medical staff, responded promptly to the incident.
Their coordinated efforts ensured that all 3,820 residents from 764 apartments were safely evacuated without any reported injuries.
In response to the fire, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) suspended tram services between Dubai Marina Station (No. 5) and Palm Jumeirah Station (No. 9). The authority stated that the step was taken as a precaution to ensure the safety of passengers and operational staff.
