Embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on October 7 opened up about the 22 companies at the center of his ongoing impeachment proceedings. Accoridng to the DP, some of the firms are actively operating in the country and others having not been in business for years.
The list of companies Gachagua and his family owns includes Spirit Way Limited, Mothers of the Land Limited,Ridor Furniture Mart Limited, and Royal Crimson Ventures Limited.

Gachagua also disclosed that he owns Rigathi Gachagua Foundation, Calvary Creed International Limited, The Anansi Collective, Fortis Vis Group Limited, Pioneer Medical (K) Limited, Pioneer Medical (K) Limited, Crystal Kenya Limited, Karandi Farm Limited, and Technical Supplies and Services (K) Limited.
However, he refuted claims that he owns Vipingo Beach Resort Limited saying that the company belongs to his late brother Nderitu Gachagua and his sons Kevin and Keith are directors on behalf of Nderitu’s estate.

The deputy president also revealed that he owned a company called Biovet (k) Limited which was incorporated in 2009, but it has not traded for the last 15 years, calling on the mover of the impeachment motion against him legislator Mwengi Mutuse to conduct due diligence when raising allegations against him.
Morani Manufacturers Limited is another company Gachagua mentioned saying it was incorporated in 2021 and is used for the manufacturing and sale of animal feed and has so far transacted Ksh 132,000.

“You are going after a company that has transected Ksh 132, 000 and using it as basis of my impeachment. This is ridiculous,” Gachagua aimed at Mutuse during the press briefing.
He was addressing the press on October 7 after it was alleged in the impeachment motion that 22 companies, he owns with his family have been used to launder and conceal proceeds of crime, corruption, and to benefit from influence peddling.
Other Companies Gachagua Owns
Additional companies linked to Gachagua entail Heartland Supplies Limited, Kuruwitu Properties Limited, Cosmere Venture Limited, Wamunyoro Investments Limited, Delta Merchants Limited, and Grand Bypass Apartments Limited.

He disclosed that Fortis Vis Group Limited was incorporated by his sons and has never traded and does not have a bank account. Pioneer Medical (k) Limited is another company that has not traded for the last 10 years.
Gachagua urged those seeking to impeach him to go after him and not target his entire family, including his children and his late brother Nderitu Gachagua who served as the governor of Nyeri.

The deputy president went on to call on the members of the national assembly to scrutinize the accusations levelled against him based on evidence, laughing off some of the allegations posed against him.
Gachagua is set to appear in parliament on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, before legislators vote on the impeachment motion against him.
