Gaza Health Ministry, on October 11, confirmed a rise in the death toll after Israel’s attack, as more bodies continue to be retrieved under the rubble.
At least 151 bodies of Palestinians killed in Gaza, along with 72 wounded individuals, have been brought to hospitals in the past 24 hours, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
The ministry said 116 of the bodies belonged to people killed earlier in the war and were recovered from beneath the rubble during ongoing rescue operations.
Since the conflict began on October 7, 2023, Israel’s military offensive has killed 67,682 Palestinians and wounded 170,033, the ministry reported.
The recent recoveries highlight the continued scale of devastation in the enclave, even as a ceasefire takes effect under the first phase of a peace agreement between Israel and Hamas.
Displaced Palestinians Return to Northern Gaza
Tens of thousands of forcibly displaced Palestinians are now returning to their shattered homes and neighborhoods in northern Gaza following Israel’s partial withdrawal of troops.
Many of them are finding nothing but rubble, burnt vehicles, and collapsed infrastructure.
Humanitarian agencies have warned that essential services remain paralyzed. Hospitals, schools, and water facilities are either destroyed or operating at minimal capacity.

Palestinian Factions Reject External Control
As calm temporarily settles over the territory, Palestinian factions have voiced a unified stance on the political future of Gaza.
Hamas, together with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), issued a joint statement rejecting any form of external administration over Gaza.
“We renew our rejection of any foreign guardianship, and we stress that the nature of the administration of the Gaza Strip and its institutions is an internal Palestinian matter to be determined by the national component of our people directly,” the statement read.
The factions praised the steadfastness of Palestinians, stating that their resilience thwarted Israel’s alleged plans for mass displacement.

Israel Launches Fierce Gaza Bombardment Hours After Peace Deal
On October 9, Israel launched a massive bombardment of Gaza just hours after US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had signed the first phase of a peace agreement aimed at ending the two-year conflict.
The renewed airstrikes were reported across multiple locations in Gaza on Thursday night, despite earlier optimism that the deal would mark a significant de-escalation.
The sudden offense raised uncertainty over the implementation of the peace accord and sparked concerns of renewed hostilities in the region.
