Govt Announces Disposal of Vehicles and Motorcycles in Police Stations

The government has announced plans to auction vehicles and motorcycles lying at various police stations should their owners fail to collect them.

In a Gazette Noticed dated Friday, September 27, the four police stations, Dandora,  Kiserian and Shauri Moyo issued a 30-day ultimatum for owners to collect their vehicles.

For vehicles and motorcycles in Subuiga Police Station in Meru County, the owners have been given 90 days to collect their vehiucles at the police station.

The stations appointed auctioneers, Windsor House Auctioneers, to oversee the auction processes.

“The owners of motor vehicles and motorcycles which are lying idle and unclaimed within these Police Stations, to collect the said Motor vehicles and motorcycles at the said police station,” read part of the Gazette notice.

“Failure to which Windsor House Auctioneers shall sell by way of public auction on expiry of a thirty (30) days’ notice from the date of this publication.”

Vehicles, Motorcycles & Other Items to be Disposed

At Shaurimoyo Police Station, there are 16 vehicles and 10 motorcycles. The vehicles include a variety of models, such as a prime mover, a trailer, canters, and several passenger cars.

Notable vehicles in the collection include different types of SUVs and sedans, including a Corolla, a Peugeot, a Hyundai, and a Land Rover, along with some that are described as scrap or burnt shells.

Motorcycles listed in the notice include some with chassis numbers for TVS, Boxers, and Captains, among others. Additional motorcycles in the collection feature a numberless Skygo and other unregistered bikes.

Additionally, a Mamba Bicycle and 300 plain blue T-shirts are also listed.

Additionally, there is a Nissan note, a Toyota ISIS, a Mazda Demio, a Probox, an Isuzu NKR, another canter, and a burnt Probox at Subuiga Police Station.

There are also unregistered trailers, such as APZU355088-5 (blue container), burnt vehicle shells, and assorted scrap metals found in the station compound.

Cars & Motorcycles at Dandora and Kiserian Police Station

Motor vehicles and motorcycles lying idle and unclaimed within Dandora Police Station include a diverse assortment of brands and models.

Among the vehicles are various Peugeot and Nissan models, alongside a striking Tiger Red vehicle.

The motorcycle fleet includes TVS models in various colors, a red Boxer, and a black Sunly.

Additionally, several Honda and Ranger motorcycles are listed for imminent auction, along with brands like Yamaha and Skygo.

Also, at Kiserian Police Station, a range of cars and motorcycles are held pending collection. Among these vehicles are motorcycles Skygo and Boxer model.

Furthermore, there is a Toyota pick-up in scrap condition, as well as a numberless Subaru shell. The collection is rounded off by a brown container and an unknown scrap vehicle.
