President William Ruto has announced several business deals secured between Kenya and Poland including the deployment of Polish technology for use in different sectors.
Speaking on Monday, February 5, while hosting the president of Poland Andrzej Duda, Ruto said that they would be participating in a Kenya-Poland Business and Economic forum.
During the forum, some of the anticipated activities included the deployment of drone technology to monitor Kenya’s vast wildlife conservation parks.
At the same time, Ruto stated that they would be witnessing the showcasing of Polish technology on the use of virtual reality to support smart welding operations.
“We shall also witness the showcasing of Polish technology on the use of virtual reality to support smart welding operations critical in industrial development as well as the deployment of drone technology to monitor our vast wildlife conservation parks.
“I am confident that this B-to-B meeting will result in higher levels of foreign direct investment from Polish companies into various sectors of our economy. We anticipate witnessing the endorsement of various instruments of collaboration between KenInvest and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency,” said Ruto.

Other Deals and Agreements Between Kenya and Poland
On the other hand, Ruto noted that the two governments had signed frameworks of cooperation to solidify their friendly relations, including a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Agricultural Cooperation and an MOU on Tax Solidarity Programme.
“These MOUs will cement our aspirations to promote bilateral partnerships in their respective sectors and open up new avenues for collaboration between the two countries and peoples.
“Several other MOu’s are in the pipeline. We are committed to ensuring their successful implementation,” Ruto noted.
At the same time, the head of state announced that he had agreed with the president of Poland, to collaborate in the agriculture and food security sector.

The move, he noted, would bridge the gap in the demand for wheat and grain products in Kenya.
Also, Ruto invited Poland to consider Mombasa and Lamu ports as logistics hubs for exports.
“Our country serves as the gateway to the East African Community market and boasts the largest seaports in the region.
“Consequently, I invited Poland to consider Mombasa and Lamu ports as possible logistical hubs for exporting products, including grains, to the region and beyond,” he added.
The event marked the first-ever visit to Kenya by a Polish president.
