A new intelligence report from the Ministry of Interior has revealed top hide out areas for notorious Nairobi Criminal Gangs.
In a statement released on March 22, 2024, Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kithure Kindiki stated that intelligence reports have revealed that some of the criminal gangs that have been terrorizing residents in Nairobi’s Eastlands areas have their hideouts in the suburbs of Tala Township.
Additionally, he noted that the gangs use the hiding areas to plan and coordinate their dangerous activities.
“Some of the criminal gangs terrorizing the Nairobi Eastlands, according to credible intelligence are using suburbs of Tala Township to plan their crimes and to debrief,” Kindiki stated.
This comes after The United States Embassy in Kenya issued a security alert to its citizens in Kenya warning their citizens from carrying expensive items around the city citing an increased number of criminal activities such as smuggling.

“Notwithstanding the remarkable strides by the Nairobi County security and law enforcement apparatus to reign in on urban crime within Nairobi, several parts of the City County continue to report cases of muggings, street robbery and homicide,” Kindiki noted.
