The Office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on March 14, dismissed social media claims suggesting he had been assassinated in retaliation for US and Israeli strikes on Iran.
Amid reports that Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has not been seen in public for days, his office issued a statement saying he is safe.
It dismissed social media rumours that suggested he had been assassinated in an Iranian response to US and Israeli strikes.
Responding to questions from an Anadolu correspondent on March 15, the office said the reports were “fake news” and confirmed that the Prime Minister is safe.
“These are fake news; the Prime Minister is fine,” the office replied.
The rumours began spreading across multiple platforms amid escalating tensions between Israel, Iran, and the United States, but no credible sources have confirmed any attack on Netanyahu.
PM Netanyahu last seen
On March 13, Netanyahu’s office shared his video message after the new Iranian Supreme Leader’s first message.
“We are crushing Iran and Hezbollah,” Netanyahu said in a televised media briefing.
“We eliminated the old tyrant, and the new tyrant, the puppet of the Revolutionary Guards, can’t show his face in public,” he warned Iran’s new leader.

While this was termed to be his last public address, many users have questioned whether the message was a live telecast or pre-recorded.
The last post on his social media profiles is the same Mar 13 address video in which users point out that he appeared to have six fingers.
The “six-finger controversy” refers to a video address by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Mar 13 in which he appears to have six fingers on his right hand in a specific frame, prompting claims that the video might be AI-generated or a deepfake.
