Local vehicles assembly Isuzu East Africa has announced to roll out the sales of a special edition of their Dmax that will be named after the marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge.
The new roll out will have one hundred and fifty-nine units, which will be available for purchase soon.
“We have the Eliud Kipchoge 1:59 Limited special D-max Edition that Isuzu introduced to the market to honor Eliud Kipchoge’s win for the 2022 Berlin marathon,” the company said in a response to Capital FM on Twitter.
The one hundred and fifty-nine units will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, adding that they will all have the original signature of Kipchoge engraved on them.
The long-distance world champion runner, Kipchoge, is the official brand ambassador for the Isuzu company in Kenya.

The 159 name is inspired by Kipchoge’s record-breaking victory in a specialised race organized by British multinational chemicals company INEOS.
The ‘1:59 Special’ was unveiled last year in October as Kipchoge celebrated the third anniversary of his historic INEOS.
“This partnership will cement a five-year-old partnership and open new exciting, meaningful ways to engage our customers. This is to honour Eliud in a great way for what he achieved with the INEOS 1:59 run,” Rita Kavashe, the Isuzu East Africa General Manager had then said.
