Joe Waithira, popularly known as “Joe,” was born on November 6, 1996, in Murang’a County.
Standing at 5.9 feet, Waithera plays as an offensive wide player or a tactical number 10.
Joe Waithira’s Football Career
Joe Waithira started his football journey in class four.
While playing in a match at Kiharu Stadium in Murang’a County, he was spotted by Jedaxino FC, a local scouting team that nurtured his talent.

Joe played for the local side for a while, later refining his skills while studying at Koimbi Boys High School and Githurambi Boys.
After high school, Waithira joined Thika-based Mumbi National FC, where he stayed for 2 months.
Joe’s breakthrough came after his standout performance during a GoTV Shield Cup match against AFC Leopards, where he scored and drew the attention of Wazito FC.
“Where I managed to do my best and probably score the only goal. Then Wazito came up and spotted me. So, they approached me and asked me if I could join the club. I did not hesitate. I just went ahead and accepted the deal,” Joe said.
He has since played for different Kenya Premier League clubs as a striker before joining Murang’a Seal FC, where he is the team’s captain.

- Mumbi National FC
- Wazito FC – From 2016 to 2021
- Nakumatt FC – In 2018, He joined Nakumatt FC during the mid-season transfer window, where he scored a brace against Ushuru FC to help Nakumatt secure their top-flight status in the 2018/19 promotion/relegation playoff.
- Sofapaka FC – From 2021 to 2023
- Bandari FC – Joined in 2023 but spent only one year
- Murang’a Seal FC – from 2024 to date
