Transport along Jogoo Road has been disrupted after protesters blocked the road to protest against the dumped bodies that have been retrieved from Kware dumpsite.
The discovery of bodies in Mukuru kwa Njenga area of Embakasi, Nairobi sparked an outrage among locals who were involved in a standoff with the police.
At least four more bodies were retrieved from the dumpsite on Saturday July 13 after the locals were invited to offer help in the retrieval where the bodies were pulled using strong ropes.
Vehicles plying the route that connects Nairobi CBD to Eastland estates of Umoja, Kayolke and Embakasi, among others, were forced to stop as the youth have occupied all parts of the road.
Videos taken from the Road showed the youth hanging on police Landcruiser driven by a local and others marching singing “Ruto must go”.
Boda bodas led the march at the front as sounds of sirens rent the air in the background. The residents are demanding justice following the discovery of bodies at the quarry dumpsite.
