June Moi, the youngest daughter of the late President Daniel Arap Moi, lived a life shrouded in both wealth and mystery.
Born into one of Kenya’s most prominent political families, June’s upbringing was marked by privilege and a close bond with her father, whom sources suggest favored her among his children.
The late President Moi, who ruled Kenya from 1978 to 2002, had a total of eight children, seven biological and one adopted.
Among them, June stood out as the last-born daughter, adopted by the former head of state himself.
Reports indicate that June enjoyed a special place in her father’s heart, alongside her brother Gideon Moi, who followed in their father’s political footsteps.
Details of June Moi Secretly Lived Life
While the Moi family is well-known in Kenya’s political circles, June chose to lead a more private life, focusing on her business ventures in land, property agency, and development.
Her father had, however, mentioned in his biography that June and Gideon Moi were the only children in his family who appeared in public to accord him moral support.
After completing her early education at Nairobi Primary and Kenya High School, she pursued further studies in Canada, where she honed her entrepreneurial skills.
June’s success in business mirrored her father’s prowess in politics, albeit away from the public eye.
Despite her penchant for privacy, June’s inheritance made headlines following her father’s passing.
Mzee Moi left behind a will dated November 15, 2005, and had appointed lawyer Zehrabanu Janmohamed to manage his estate as executor and trustee of the will.
Lawyer Janmohamed was granted permission by the High Court on October 9, 2020, to oversee the management and distribution of properties owned by the late former Kenyan President, Daniel Arap Moi, after obtaining the grant of probate of the written Will.
However, the distribution process hit a roadblock when court petitions were filed against the family.

The distribution of the properties was halted due to legal challenges initiated by two parties; Dr. George Kiongera, a Kenyan doctor based in the United States, and the family of a former Eldoret chief, Noah Chelugui.
Dr. Kiongera, along with Mr. David Chelugui, son of the former chief, sought to prevent Lawyer Janmohamed from proceeding with the distribution of the properties.
President Moi, known for his significant wealth amassed throughout his years in public service reportedly left each of his three daughters, including June, a substantial sum of Ksh100 million.
This sizable inheritance catapulted June into the spotlight, shedding light on her otherwise quiet life.
Former President Moi wrote the will on November 15, 2005, four years after leaving power and 14 years before his death.
June’s siblings, including Gideon Moi, Jonathan Toroitich, and Philip Moi, have each carved their own paths in various fields, from politics to sports and the military.
However, it was June’s reserved demeanor and discreet lifestyle that intrigued many, leaving her surrounded by an air of mystery.
In contrast to her siblings, June’s personal life remained largely unknown to the public.

While her father’s separation from her mother, Lena Moi, and subsequent divorce in 1979 made headlines, June’s own journey unfolded away from the public gaze.
Her upbringing, marked by her father’s political career and her mother’s role as a devoted homemaker, provided a stark contrast to her later endeavors in business.
