Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed claims that President William Ruto approached him to join the Kenya Kwanza government.
Speaking to the media on May 23, 2025, Kalonzo firmly stated that he cannot associate himself with a government he believes is led by corrupt individuals.
“President Ruto should tell us where exactly we met. Some State House bloggers are claiming I met him there, but that’s false. This government must go, and the message remains clear. How could I possibly be aligned with such an administration?” he said.
Further, he stated that Kenyans should anticipate a new opposition formation aimed at liberating the country from what he described as poor governance.
Ruto Turned to Kalonzo First
During a meeting at State House on May 21, 2025, President Ruto said he approached Raila Odinga after Musyoka rejected his offer to join the government.
“After we were done with the 2022 election, I reached out to Mr Musyoka before reaching out to Mr Odinga, but he turned down the offer,” Ruto said.
Further, he expressed his willingness to collaborate with Ukambani grassroots leaders to transform the region’s landscape.
