The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a six-day traffic interruption along Thika Superhighway.
In a statement, the authority notified motorists plying the road that part of the Superhighway at Juja High Point will experience the disruption on the inner lane.
Additionally, the statement explained that Thika bound traffic will be the most affected.
Furthermore, KeNHA has detailed that the interruptions will allow for the construction of the mid-span footbridge foundation. The activity will take place between Wednesday, July 10, to Monday, July 15.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Thika Superhighway (A2) at Juja High Point will experience traffic disruption on the inner lane of Thika bound traffic from Wednesday July 10, 2024, to Monday July 15, 2024.
“This is to allow for construction of the mid-span footbridge foundation,” the statement read in part.

KeNHA Gives Alternative Routes
At the same time, the authority advised motorists to work with police officers and traffic marshals stationed along the Highway to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
“KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan below and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site,” added the statement.
The announcement came hours after the Kenya Urban Road Authority (KURA) announced traffic disruption along Ruiru-Kamiti Road, Ngenda Road and Ruiru-Githunguri Road.
In a statement, the authority noted that the roads will be closed for the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon Tatu City warm-up run on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
“We wish to notify the general public that there will be traffic disruptions along Ruiru-Kamiti Road, Ngenda Road and Ruiru-Githunguri Road,”
“This is due to the Standard Chartered Warm-up Run at Tatu City on Saturday, 13 July 2024, from 7:00am to 4:00pm,” the notice reads in part.

Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon
The official warm-up run for the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon will be hosted in collaboration between Tatu City and Standard Chartered.
The all-day event will be held at Tatu City, a 5,000-acre development near Nairobi, on July 13, 2024, offering race distances of 5km, 10km, and 21km.
Also, the race village will provide a variety of entertainment, including live music from top Kenyan artists, a kid’s zone with fun activities, and a food and drinks area with a wide range of refreshments.
Thousands of runners, families, and friends are expected to attend.
