The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced that it will close a section of the Kenyatta Avenue temporarily from July 25 to August 12, 2023.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority hereby informs the public that a section of Kenyatta Avenue (at Uhuru Highway Roundabout), shall be closed in phases between Tuesday 25th July 2023 to Saturday 12th August 2023,” KeNHA stated in a notice.
Through a traffic advisory notice released on Tuesday, July 25, KeNHA noted that the temporary closure will happen at off-peak hours starting from 9.00pm to 4.00am in the morning.
Moreover, the Kenya National Highways authority said the temporary closure is meant to allow for re-installation of a Cross Culvert across Kenyatta Avenue.

Schedule for the Re-installation
- Re-installation of Phase I will be conducted from 24th to 26th July 2023
- Re-installation of Phase II will take place from 28th July to 1st August 2023
- Re-installation of Phase III will take place from 3rd to 7th August 2023
- Re-installation of Phase IV will take place from 8th to 12th August 2023

As such, KeNHA advised motorists to exercise caution and road courtesy while using the road.
Motorists are further urged to cooperate with police and traffic marshals for better management of traffic.
