The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has said it will close a section of the Southern Bypass partially for maintenance.
The section to be closed beginning Thursday June 15 to Sunday June 18 is between the Kikuyu-bound carriageway and the Gitaru Overpass virtual weighbridge.
Motorists will use the route every night from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m.
“Normal traffic will resume every night between 6:00 pm and 9:00 am. This allows highway maintenance works along the section,” KeNHA director general Kung’u Ndung’u said.

Drivers using the route have been advised to drive carefully while approaching the section even with the marshals that will be put in place to control the traffic at night.
Additionally, proper signs will be erected to direct motorists plying the 28.6 kilometre dual carriageway that was initially constructed to reduce congestion in Nairobi.
