KeNHA Warns of Flooded Roads
In a series of cautionary notices, the authority also alerted motorists and pedestrians of potential hazards on several key roads due to flooding and rising water levels.
One of the alerts pertains to the Kampi ya Moto-Eldama Ravine (B77) Road, where River Rongai overflowed its banks, causing overtopping at Rongai Junction.
KeNHA strongly advised against attempting to cross this section of the road and urged users to wait patiently for the water levels to recede.
“The Authority cautions road users against any attempts to use this section of the road in the interest of their safety,” KeNHA announced.
In addition to the caution for the Kampi ya Moto-Eldama Ravine (B77) Road, on May 11, 2024, KeNHA also advised travelers using the Garsen-Witu-Lamu (A7) Road to exercise vigilance, especially between Idsowe (Tana River Bridge) and Gamba/Lango la Simba.
Heavy rainfall upstream led to rising water levels in the Tana River, resulting in flooding of the fields along the road.
