Kenya Airways Plc (KQ) has announced the resignation of James David Kabeberi from its Board of Directors.
In a notice dated Wednesday, November 27, KQ noted that the announcement was made in compliance with the Capital Markets (Securities) (Public Offers, Listing and Disclosures) Regulations 2023.
During his tenure, Kabeberi held multiple key roles, including Chairman of the Board Audit and Risk Committee.
Also, he served as a member of the Strategy and Business Development Committee and the Human Resources Committee.
“The Board of Directors of Kenya Airways Plc (“KQ”) hereby announces the resignation of Mr. James David Kabeberi as a director of the Company.
“Kabeberi served as a director on the Board and was the Chairman of the Board Audit and Risk Committee. He was also a member of the Strategy and Business Development Committee and the Human Resources Committee,” the airline announced.

Other Roles David Kabeberi Held at Kenya Airways
Additionally, Kabeberi was the Chairman of Fahari Aviation Ltd, a subsidiary of Kenya Airways, where he provided strategic oversight.
The Board expressed its gratitude for the outgoing director and his contributions, describing his input as invaluable and robust.
His leadership and commitment were instrumental in driving the company’s strategic goals and enhancing corporate governance.

“The Board wishes to express its deepest and most sincere gratitude to Mr Kabeberi for his invaluable and robust contribution to the Company during his tenure and wishes him the very best in his future endeavours,” added the notice.

His appointment and Tenure
James David Kabeberi was appointed as an independent director of Kenya Airways (KQ) in June 2023, after the resignation of John Ngumi.
John Ngumi is a renowned banker and finance expert and is the immediate former Safaricom Board Chairman where he resigned after only being at the helm for a few months.
Kabeberi has over 40 years of experience in accounting, finance, and business strategy, among others.
He is a qualified professional accountant and a registered member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and is currently enrolled for an MSc in Finance and Accounting.
