A Kenyan citizen has been convicted and remanded to prison in Uganda after he was found guilty of offensive communication and cyber stalking the Uganda’s Director of Public Prosecutions Jane Frances Abodo.
The Kenyan identified as Jared Oloo Akumu, who is a resident of Nyangoma Division, Bondo District, Siaya County, Nyanza Province in Kenya was Tuesday, October 4 found guilty by Buganda Road Court magistrate, Gladys Kamasanyu for disturbing the peace of Justice Abodo.

Moreover, the DPP was the chief witness during the hearing of the case.
She told the court that between September 15, 2021, and November 2, 2021, while in unknown places, Akumu intentionally and recurrently used his email address akumu4036@gmail.com to harass the DPP.

Abodo added that Akumu sent her threatening e-mails and attachments to her official email address.
Furthermore, she stated that the accused threatened to print out her photos’ and pin them on billboards across East African countries for everybody, including her appointing authority, President Museveni to know that she is corrupt.

In addition, the Kenyan Akumu reportedly resorted to the threats after his vehicle was stolen and blamed the DPP for hiding his case file and afterwards denying him justice because of the advice she gave concerning the theft.
According to court records, Justice Abodo reported the case at Central Police Station in Kampala before detectives arrested Akumu after he crossed into Uganda to follow up on his car case
Nonetheless, Akumu is currently remanded at Luzira prison until October 11 when he will appear again in court for sentencing.
Furthermore, the state prosecutors want Akumu to be sentenced to five years on grounds that his actions caused the DPP untold trauma.
Conversely, Akumu who confessed to sending the e-mails to justice Abodo begged for forgiveness and lenience, adding that he simply wanted to recover his stolen vehicle.
