Renowned journalist Willis Raburu has sparked mixed reactions after announcing the return of Wabebe Experience show which he co-hosted alongside MC Gogo.
In a statement dated Thursday, June 6, the media personality noted that the Wabebe Experience (Wabebe XP) is gearing up for a powerful return, driven by a newfound focus on authenticity and ownership in the digital space.
Willis added that having evolved alongside the changing media landscape, it’s time to embrace a fresh approach that prioritizes independence and collaboration.
“Legacy media has built me, but now it’s time to carve our own path,” he shared.
The journalist stated that with the revival of Wabebe XP, a new beginning unfolds, promising genuine and relatable content that speaks to the audience on a deeper level.
Kenyans Reactions of the statement
His announcement, however, sparked mixed reactions as some Kenyans online bashed Willis for posting a statement which was not giving clear directions of where and when the show will commence.
“hii message yako haijaeleweka mkuu (your statement is not clear sir). What exactly are you intending to do in the new “era” that you have not been doing before?” a user on X Tony Gitonga commented.
Nyaga Winston commented on Facebook noting that Raburu’s statement did not have any meaning. ” So Raburu is quoting Raburu , a lot of nothing in this letter, ” he wrote.

Raburu Joins TV47
Subsequently, the media personality on Tuesday, August 22, officially announced that he is joining TV47. The show host announced his debut indicating that he will host a 10pm show dubbed ‘Wabebe Experience’.

“Welcome to the new journey… the wait is over! Announcing my partnership with TV47,” he wrote.
In yet another twist of events in his career, Raburu said the Wabebe show would take a break but will be back again later. He made it clear that there are no problems with the show, which was popular on TV 47.
He thanked his team, including MC Gogo and others who work behind the scenes, for their support in making the show great ever since it started.
