Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has addressed reports that he lectured Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku in Embu on Sunday May 11, 2025.
In a statement on Monday, May 12, the DP dismissed those claims, describing them as mischievous.
“Seen a desperate, mischievous and utterly malicious twist insinuating that I lectured and disrespected my neighbour CS Geoffrey Ruku, my friend for years. False Hood is cheap!” Kindiki stated.

The DP further stated that senior people in government try to ‘act clever’ by undermining the same government they are part of and cited it as illegal and anti-people.
He further affirmed that in government, you are bound by government policy, decisions and actions.
Instead, he urged that everybody in government should use their position to help the government move forward and influence the desired action.
“It is for the opposition to oppose, criticise and correct the government,” the DP concluded.
Kindiki Lecturing Ruku
Early on Sunday, 11th May, CS Ruku was in Siakago, Embu County, in a meeting in Mbeere North, where he asked the Deputy President to ensure that all the roads in the area were tarmacked within one year.
These words did not sit right with Prof. Kithure Kindiki, and he immediately called him out for what he described as inciting the public against a government that the CS is part of, reminding him that he was no longer a Member of Parliament but a Cabinet Secretary.

Support the Government
He went on to state that each government official should take responsibility of any undone work by the government and help the government to make sure it achieves its goals and serves the citizens of Kenya.
‘You cannot be a Cabinet Minister and instead of helping Kenyans to understand how the government is working to progress, and where it finds some difficulty, you come to complain like a normal citizen. It is not possible. If you want to complain then get out of the government!’ he said.
The DP also promised to build 400 market stalls for the residents of Kiambu and Embu County, asking them to give the government ample time to fulfil its promises.
