A nine-year-old girl was allegedly defiled by her 17-year-old cousin on Wednesday, January 11 morning at their home in Mosocho, Kisii County.
The grade two pupil at Raganga Primary School was rushed to Mosocho police station by her neighbors after one of them heard her screaming for help.
“I rushed to the house where I heard Diana screaming and asked her to open the door, upon entering the house, I saw someone escaping through the back window.” Stated the minor’s neighbor Winnie Kerubo.
Ms. Kerubo told police officers that she found the victim known as Diana Kwamboka Mose bleeding from her genitals, crying and she informed her that her brother had defiled her.
Kerubo and their other neighbor Fridah helped wash her and had her put on clean clothes and a diaper to help absorb the blood that was oozing from her private parts. They then took her to Mosocho police station to report the incident.
In her statement to the police, the nine-year-old reported that she was home alone sleeping on her mother’s bed between 7 to 9 am, when her cousin identified as Bivon came in, undressed her, and defiled her.

She further reported that she was unable to scream as he covered her mouth with his hands as he performed the despicable act.
Nevertheless, the suspect Bivon Odieki Mose was caught by the villagers and taken to Mosocho police station where he is being held.
Bivon confirmed to the officers that he had indeed defiled Diana, whom he referred to as her younger sister.
The minor was taken to Mosocho dispensary for examination where the medical examiners confirmed that she was defiled. Diana suffered perineal tears and was in so much pain.
