The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released certificates for various teacher education cohorts.
In an announcement on February 14, KNEC stated that the certificates have been dispatched to Sub-County Education Offices for collection.
“Certificates for the following cohorts have been dispatched to the Sub-County Education Offices for collection,” read the announcement.
According to KNEC, certificates for the following cohorts are now ready for collection:
- DECTE & DPTE – 2022
- UDPTE & UDECTE – 2023
- ECDE Certificate & ECDE Diploma – 2025
- DTE, SNE & PTE – 2025
KNEC added that certificates for the TCAE 2025 cohort have already been collected by the Directorate of Adult Education for onward dispatch to the respective TCAE centre principals.
College principals have been advised to liaise with their Sub-County Education Offices to ensure the timely collection and issuance of certificates to eligible trainees.
The examination body noted that certificates for the DSTE 2022 cohort are not included in this dispatch and will issue further communication once they are ready.

Primary Teacher Education (PTE) Examinations
The Primary Teacher Education (PTE) examination is part of a two-year program for students aspiring to become primary school teachers after completing the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Successful candidates are awarded a Certificate in Primary Teacher Education, qualifying them to teach at the primary school level.

Diploma in Teacher Education (DTE) Examinations
The Diploma in Teacher Education (DTE) examination is part of a three-year program for students aspiring to teach at the secondary school level after completing the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Graduates of the program are awarded a Diploma in Teacher Education, qualifying them to teach in secondary schools.
Diploma in Special Needs Education (SNE) Examinations
The Diploma in Special Needs Education (SNE) examination is a two-year program for teachers who wish to specialize in special needs education after completing a teacher training course at any level.
Graduates of the program are awarded a Diploma in Special Needs Education, qualifying them to teach learners with diverse educational needs.
